Frequently
Asked Questions
Who
can enter?
The Awards are open to all Anglesey tourism operators and as long
as you meet the criteria for the category or categories you are
entering then your entry is very much welcomed.
What
are the benefits of entering the Awards?
This is a great opportunity for you and your business to be recognised
and rewarded on regional and potentially national basis. A prestigious
accolade, winners should enjoy extensive media coverage in the
local, regional and trade press and possibly radio. In addition,
winners are invited to use the Anglesey Tourism Awards winner
logo on all marketing material. The Anglesey Tourism Awards will
grow in stature year on year and presents a wonderful chance to
showcase your business and network with fellow professionals.
What
support is there to help me complete the award application form?
There are application guidance notes available to download on
this website. These will give you an idea on presentation and
content (forms can be completed by hand or typed whichever suits
you best) or you can contact Pip Cockeram at Sbarc on 01248 717903
to discuss any specific queries you may have.
As well as completing the tourism award application form should
I also send in supplementary information?
Yes, we welcome
the addition of support material. This may include: brochures;
testimonials; customer satisfaction surveys; questionnaires; web
trends; marketing campaign details; local or regional media coverage
and promotional literature.
Can
I enter more than one award?
Yes, you may enter as many awards as you wish, in fact we actively
encourage it.
How
long should I spend completing the entry form and any supporting
details?
We estimate that an individual entry form should take no longer
than a couple of hours to complete - if the information is easily
to hand, it could take less time.
Is
it possible to submit the application form electronically?
No, all applications must be either hand delivered or sent in
the post by the closing date shown on the application form to
Anglesey Tourism Association, c/o Sbarc Ltd, 14 Bridge Street,
Menai Bridge, Anglesey LL59 5DW.
Explain
the term 'evaluation methods'.
Basically, anything that can support your entry so again this
might include visitor numbers, visitors to your website, telephone
enquiries, product sales, media coverage, customer feedback, suppliers
- anything that demonstrates your claims.
Will
I be expected to attend the Anglesey Tourism Awards ceremony if
I apply?
It is expected that at least one representative from your organisation
will attend the event. Winners will be asked to participate in
publicity, which may include photography, quotes for the press
and radio interviews.
When
will the winners be announced?
Shortlisted nominees will be announced before the ceremony but
there will be no advance notification of the winners as these
will be announced at the awards ceremony.
Is the information that I send to Sbarc kept private and
confidential?
Yes, only Sbarc and the judging panel will have sight of the entry
forms and supporting information. It is important to note that
the judges' comments on the successful entry may be referred to
at the Awards ceremony. These may make reference to the quality
of the application and some of the content contained therein.
Entries for the Anglesey Tourism Awards will not be passed through
to the National Tourism Awards at Showcase Wales, therefore these
will need to be entered separately.
What
will the winners receive?
All award winners will receive a prestigious, engraved trophy
and certificate as well as the opportunity to proceed into National
Tourism Awards at Showcase Wales. In addition, winners will be
included in all post event publicity and receive a logo for use
on stationery, brochures and website as appropriate. Winning such
an award will also provide a big boost to tourism and hospitality
teams.
Does
it cost anything to enter?
No, there is no charge to enter.
If you are
still having difficulty completing your entry or form and wish
